Julie Edwards counselling services
Private practice (individual)
Julie Edwards: I am a master’s level social worker, born and raised in Renfrew County and have been providing therapy and counselling services in private practice since 2008 and in a hospital setting before this. I see mainly individuals and have developed strengths in treating adults who are facing trauma. Other areas of specialized training are; eating disorders/body image, depression, anxiety, personality disorders& anger. I use change driven models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, solution focused and dynamically oriented approaches in therapy. I have a strong passion for using wilderness in my work with individuals and groups. Wilderness therapy uses the natural world as a platform to assist people in stress reduction and stress management, connecting to deeper levels of themselves and also to other people. Wilderness therapy can also be a powerful tool to assist organizations to reduce stress and improve staff collaboration. These one day retreats can be tailored to meet your organization’s goals. www.julieedwards.ca phone:613-631-0689 fax:613-631-0221
