Waterloo Region Family Network (WRFN)
As a peer-developed and peer-driven network, WRFN is uniquely able to help exceptional families and individuals thrive. Through education and meaningful connections, we offer support in making informed decisions for now and through all life stages.

Programs include:
*Family Resource Coach (Our Family Resource Coach provides this support - connecting families, caregivers and self-advocates to programs, activities and valuable information on a variety of topics.)

*Parent Mentor Program (Through our Parent Mentor Program, we provide a means for parents to connect with each other, as well as guide, support and help empower each other to work through the highs and lows that make up their journeys. Our Parent Mentors provide information and emotional support; share ideas and strategies; and connect their mentees with community resources.)

*Coffee Club (Our Coffee Club gives youth and adults with special needs a place to connect with friends and feel at home. This drop-in social group is open to people with disabilities, who are age 16 and older.)

*School Issues Support Group (This peer-led group provides support, advice and a safe environment for parents who have questions or concerns about school issues affecting their children with special needs.)

*A New Chapter: Families Moving Forward (This peer-led group is for parents/caregivers interested in preparing for the future of their youth/adult family member with a lifelong disability.)

*Ask A Self-Advocate (Talk with an adult diagnosed with exceptionalities about your own challenges and learn about how they experiences may help you.)

*Education Support (We help facilitate the process for successful collaboration between home and school, involving transparent and open communication. Support for parents who are preparing to attend school meetings. We can also attend school meetings with parents, if requested.)

*Events, Seminars and Workshops (Our events, seminars and workshops equip families with knowledge and offer opportunities to connect with others who understand.)
