Event Description

Dr. Edward Marshall of the Ottawa Institute of Logotherapy will discuss the life and work of psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, the author of Man’s Search for Meaning; his ground-breaking development of Logotherapy; and how Frankl's story as a Jewish Holocaust survivor relates to mental illness today. Logotherapy is founded upon the belief that it is the striving to find a meaning in one's life that is the primary, most powerful motivating and driving force in humans. Frankl's work has inspired many people to overcome situations of unavoidable suffering.
