SO WHAT? Demystifying Psychoeducational Assessment Reports
Information Session
For: General public, Professionals
Provided by: Learning Disabilities Association Ottawa Carleton

Date and Time

Wed May 4, 2016 (This event is over)
7:00 - 9:00pm

Location

815 St Laurent Blvd, Ottawa, ON, K1K 3A7

Event Description

While a psychological assessment is a
critical component of diagnosis, far too often,
the jargon and statistics that fill the pages of
the resulting report appear to have little or no
relevance to those who live with or teach
children with learning disabilities. Without an
understand of how the results can be
translated into useful suggestions for ways to
help parents, teachers, and the individuals
themselves, valuable information may be
lost, and the potential benefits bypassed.
This presentation will provide some
clarification of what assessments actually
assess and why. It is designed not only for
those who must read, interpret and apply the
findings, but also for professionals who write
these reports, in an effort not only to facilitate
communication, but more importantly to help
understand the essence of what a learning
disability is, and how it can be managed.
