I am a Registered Social Worker in BC and Ontario with ten years of experience practicing psychotherapy. Central to my therapeutic philosophy is the belief that the therapeutic relationship serves as the foundation for growth and healing. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Through compassionate listening, empathy, and genuine connection, I work collaboratively with clients to uncover their strengths, develop coping skills, and cultivate self-awareness.
I am trained in and incorporate multiple evidence based therapies in my practice. These include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I also draw on mindfulness and somatic approaches to support clients in creating healing mind/body connections. My approach is tailored to the needs and preferences of who I am working with.
I am experienced and passionate about supporting clients with the following presenting issues:
-Identity & gender exploration (including gender transition)
-Navigating gender transition as a partner or family member
-Trauma (childhood, single event), with a particular focus on childhood emotional neglect & it's impacts
-Understanding self criticism and developing a kinder relationship to self
-Developing a greater understanding of unmet needs, and learning how to set boundaries with self and others
-Anxiety (social, general)
-Depression (low mood, difficulty with motivation)
-Questions regarding sexual orientation
