Event Description

This informative workshop will help us enhance your knowledge and skills related to supporting people experiencing grief and loss. A critical distinction between caring versus curing will be outlined. You will go away with a wealth of knowledge surrounding the transformative nature of grief.

Objectives: Upon completion of ths workshop the participant will be able to:
- Define a broader framework for loss/grief
- Explain the distincrtion between "caring" versus "curing"
- Understand the eleven tenets of "companioning" versus "treating" the mourner
- Identify the concept of "shadow of the ghosts" of grief
- Define six universal needs of mourning

Who should attend?
The conference material is tailored to social workers, psychologists, clergy, chaplains, nurses, funeral home and hospice staff.
