Children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related disorders often times engage in problem behaviours such as self-injurious behaviours and aggression that negatively affect their quality of life. The gold standard of care for these problem behaviours is a function-based approach to assessment and treatment. The objectives of this workshop will be to develop an understanding of how environmental variables affect these problem behaviours and how a functioned-based approach can lead to more effective treatment outcomes.
