Your Voice: Counselling Services aims to provide support to individuals living with mental health concerns, dis/ability related stigma, and racism. Through therapeutic intervention, Your Voice: Counselling Services can help individuals feel heard and validated.
It can be challenging for someone to cope with life's various issues without having a safe and comfortable space to discuss their feelings. Speaking to a counsellor can be key in terms of gaining better understanding of your emotions and seeking the clarity you need to address your personal issues.
I have a wealth of social work experience working in the areas of child welfare, primary care, corrections, HIV and AIDS support, community engagement and health promotion.
My passion lies in advancing the interests of racialized persons living with dis/abilities and I have conducted presentations and podcast interviews discussing my own experiences being a racialized woman living with a speech impediment.
In building therapeutic relationships with clients, my interactions are informed by a vast array of treatment modalities such as brief-solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectal behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and emotion focused therapy.
