Event Description

Join us on Thursday, September 28 in the RBC Foundry Room at the Bayview Yards to toast and recognize the Ottawa Legal Community’s contribution to justice for persons with disabilities.

For 42 years Reach Canada has provided free legal referral services and education programs to Ottawa’s disability community. In 2022, Reach’s network of over 200 volunteer lawyers, paralegals, and mediators provided legal referral services to over 290 people and twenty education sessions directly to 771 people with disabilities.

“Reach Canada and ABLE2 have been working together for the last four years to bring about this merger. By joining. ABLE2, we can help more people with disabilities connect with community resources to deal with their legal issues. In addition, our excellent educational programming can reach a wider audience.” Frank McNally, Reach Canada Board Chair

Recently, Reach Canada merged with ABLE2 to increase the impact for people with disabilities in our community. This merger will ensure that Reach programs and vital services continue to serve the legal needs of people from the disability community. ABLE2, established in 1974, supports people of all ages across the disability spectrum and their families. Together we continue to work with partners to provide the tools, choices and connections that empower people and foster access to justice.

This high-profile evening will feature a cocktail reception, music and a live and silent auction with proceeds going to support equal access to justice for persons with disabilities. The event attracts approximately 200 guests, including local and national law firms and the business community.

Early Bird tickets are available until August 1.

Your support will ensure continued equal access to justice and human rights for persons with disabilities in your community. Thank you.
