"…if you have trauma in your history you woke up with the conscious or unconscious desire for what all trauma survivors want: safety and control." – Michele Rosenthal

This online course in trauma and addiction seeks, in a learning context, to understand the relationship between trauma and addictive behaviour. Individuals who have experienced a traumatic event may resort to substance abuse or addictive behaviors to help them cope with the psychological and physiological effects of trauma. This course will allow participants to familiarize themselves with, and explore integrative models of assessment and treatment, to help trauma survivors reach a positive and lasting change in their lives.
