Managing Emotions During Therapy (METS) Local

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking individuals aged 18-65 in Ontario who are starting or about to start cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) with a licensed mental health professional. The study interested in examining changes to your emotional experiences over treatment for up to 12 weeks. (Note: we are recruiting those in individual and group video, phone, or in-person CBT services).

Participants must be experiencing some depressive symptoms (e.g., low mood, fatigue) but a formal diagnosis of depression is not required.

What’s involved: One baseline interview (conducted online) with initial questionnaires. After this, weekly surveys sent to your smartphone while you complete CBT for up to 12 weeks. Weekly time commitment would be roughly ~20 minutes. All procedures are completed remotely. All participants will be compensated for their time and have the chance to request a summary of their data. You will work with a psychologist at CAMH who is running the study.
