Ottawa Therapy Dogs
Ottawa Therapy Dogs is a Registered Charitable Organization of volunteers promoting the physical, emotional and communicative well-being of persons by offering a mutually beneficial and safe interaction with companion animals. Programs include Animal Assisted Activities such as pet visits to facilities where residents or clients can benefit from interacting with animals; Animal Assisted Therapy, where the animal (such as a dog) participates in therapy along with a health care professional (such as an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, psychologist, speech-language pathologist, recreation therapist or registered nurse).
Special Services During Pandemics (e.g. COVID/Corona), Disasters and Related Emergencies
In response to COVID-19, Ottawa Therapy Dogs' in-person programs are currently on hold. However, we are now offering virtual visits and exploring ways to support our front-line health care workers.
