Youth are our number one resource, yet in Canada, 1 in 5 youth suffers from mental health disorder. Recreating Spaces of Trust with Vulnerable Children and Teens is a 2-day conference that addresses the needs of counsellors, teachers, professionals, and parents caring for young people who may be struggling with mental health issues such as bullying, eating disorders, family discord, dealing with cyberspace, and suicidal ideation, among others. Led by professionals, the lectures and workshops of this conference will share research and guidance in dealing with youth in difficulty and will seek ways to create healthy spaces to deal with and heal issues affecting teenagers and children today.
Dates: April 2nd 2012, from 7 pm to 9 pm and from 9 am to 4:30 pm
Location: Saint Paul University, 223 Main Street, Ottawa
Cost: $35 for general public; $10 for students
Price includes: Keynote speech, workshops (English and French), lunch and refreshments.
