Event Description
On September 12th, 2022, to mark World Suicide Prevention Day, the Hatching Ideas Lab, in partnership with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and the University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute, is hosting a screening of Lisa Klein’s The S-Word, which focuses on breaking the silence that often surrounds suicide. This film follows a suicide attempt survivor on a mission to find fellow survivors and document their stories of courage, insight and humor. Along the way, she discovers a rising national movement transforming personal struggles into action. The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion focused on community suicide prevention efforts.This event is pay-what-you-can with all proceeds going towards suicide prevention research conducted by the Hatching Ideas Lab.
